Estradot 37.5-0.585mg – 8 Patches

$150.00

Estradiol is an estrogen hormone used primarily for hormone replacement therapy to treat symptoms associated with estrogen deficiency by replacing endogenous estrogen. It is also used to prevent postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Estradot 37.5 is a transdermal hormone replacement therapy (HRT) containing estradiol 17β, the primary form of estrogen naturally produced by the ovaries before menopause. The patch provides a controlled release of estradiol through the skin and into the bloodstream, helping supplement declining estrogen levels associated with natural or surgically induced menopause.

Each Estradot 37.5 patch measures approximately 3.75cm² and contains 0.585mg of estradiol as estradiol hemihydrate. Importantly, the 0.585mg figure represents the total estradiol contained within the patch; the system is designed to release approximately 37.5 micrograms of estradiol every 24 hours. This pack contains 8 individually packaged transdermal patches.

Estradiol works by binding to estrogen receptors throughout the body and replacing some of the estrogen no longer produced in sufficient quantities after menopause. Restoring estrogen activity can help reduce vasomotor symptoms associated with estrogen deficiency, including hot flashes and sweating, while also influencing tissues such as the reproductive tract and bone. Estradot is approved in Canada for the relief of menopausal and postmenopausal symptoms and may also be used in appropriate patients for the prevention of osteoporosis associated with estrogen deficiency.

The transdermal delivery system continually releases small, controlled quantities of estradiol through the skin. Estradot patches are generally designed for twice weekly application, with each patch worn continuously for approximately three to four days, although the prescribed regimen should always be followed.

Estradot is an estrogen only product. In patients who still have a uterus, prolonged estrogen exposure can stimulate the endometrium, and a healthcare professional may determine that a progestogen should also be used to reduce the risk of endometrial hyperplasia. Hormone replacement therapy also carries important contraindications and potential risks, including certain estrogen sensitive cancers, blood clots, cardiovascular events and other conditions, making medical supervision important.

Estradot 37.5 is a prescription medication in Canada and should be used according to the directions provided by a qualified healthcare professional
